My Art My New Land cohort 3

is a program that has been created to help newcomer artists face and overcome challenges in a new culture and society by providing an opportunity to develop communication skills in authentic and dynamic situations.  It includes workshops, networking sessions, and STUDIO ACCESS!

Who is the studio suitable for?

Newcomer artists who can commit to part-time four-week collaborative work in March 2018.

The studio is suitable for a number of different practices.  Newcomer visual artists, musicians, writers, and performers are all welcome to apply. 

Workspace
The group shares working spaces. Our project is hosted by ArtStarts, a community-based non-profit organization at the lower level of Yorkdale Mall.

You can use the space for doing ceramic, mosaic, painting, photography, printing, writing, rehearsing, etc.

Studio equipment:

  • General tools, and basic materials;
  • Free use of the pottery wheel;
  • Free use of the kiln;
  • Free use of easel;
  • Free use of sewing machine;
  • Free use of Wifi.

Team
The artists will be working on their own project. A coordinator and the directors of the project will be there on some days.
